SPX, or the Small Press Expo, was a great time. It was my third convention which means I am starting to get the hang of this. I came away from STAPLE with the lesson to be careful about going to conventions alone, especially if you plan to eat during them. I also came away from the convention with new friends, who joined me on the journey to SPX.

Meet THE NEW RADIO : Alex Cahill and Jad Ziade. These gentlemen are no punks, and to prove this they unleashed their secret weapon on SPX.
SPX before the crowds. It took place in the Marriot Hotel in Bethesda Maryland. I enjoyed the venue but I was a little upset because I didn't get the chance to run around and see everything.

Fortunately I was next to some really cool artists. Meet Debi Hammack and Aaron F. Gonzalez. Two of the coolest people I met at SPX. Please check out their websites and buy their books.

And while we are talking about coolness, please also say hello to Lance Christian Hansen, a fellow comic artist and Xeric Grant Winner. His book Don't Cry recieved the Xeric Grant in 2005.I was really lucky to spend time with these great people and if you are able to spend 15 hours standing next to people you have never met before, and still have a good time, they must be cool.

I also had the chance to meet up some of the Meathaus guys and chat. Here's Jad with Feral Dalrymple and Jim Campbell.

Hey and what about yours truly, here was MY set-up. It wasn't a lot of space but I made it work and had a good time. Peep the new One Time Press shirt.
